FACT: this is my favourite thing 003

If I was more dedicated I'd find a better link. But I am not. Bill Withers- Live at Carnegie Hall... Favourite Thing number three. Fond memories of listening to this album while eating hokey-pokey and playing Goldeneye on N64. Either that, or I'm accidentally combining three completely independent fond memories. Either way it's an amazing album, especially if you can pretend for a moment you haven't heard Aint No Sunshine far too many times in Supermarkets.

As you can see I'm still trying to figure out exactly what I want to use this blog for. I think I'll stick with Sad Things and Favourite Things, for a while.

THE BOY WHO WAS ACTUALLY AN OCTOPUS

Here is a peek at The Boy Who Was Actually An Octopus, a book I am working on for an illustration project, nearing completion. It is a very silly book, if you can even call it a book. It only has like ten or eleven words in it. Note the lack of anything reflecting. This is because there is nothing there to reflect.

Up until about a week or two ago it was going to be a rather positive, optimistic book. As multiple deadlines neared and my general mood worsened I made some spontaneous, drastic rewrites and now it's downright bleak- gratuitously so. Those of you interested in such things will be able to purchase the book early 2011.

FACT: this is my favourite thing 002

Please Say Something - Full Length from David OReilly on Vimeo.

This is my favourite thing right now. Last favourite thing: La Voyage Dans La Lune. Make what you will of that. Figured I'd share this, considering the only new content I'm able to generate for this blog at the moment consists of sad things in fields.

"A troubled relationship between a cat and a mouse set in the distant future." Awesome.
